Project description
How can we develop a game that stays the same functionally, but with the potential to have different visuals every time.
Context
Limitless is a game project created for students with severe multiple disabilities at De Emiliusschool. These students have both physical and intellectual challenges, which often makes normal games too fast or difficult for them. The project aims to promote digital inclusion by making sure these students can participate in the digital world.
The game is an "endless runner" that is easy to understand and control. It uses simple actions like moving left, right, and shooting. These controls can be changed to work with special tools like eye-tracking or single-button switches.
Results
The most important technical outcome of this project is the Limitless game concept, which is an accessible endless runner designed for students with severe multiple disabilities. Another key product is the AI-powered backend that uses Stable Diffusion v1.5 to create dynamic game worlds. This system allows teachers to change the game environment, such as textures and backgrounds, using simple text prompts. To ensure the game is usable for the target group, the team developed customizable controls that work with specialized tools like switches or eye-tracking systems.
