AV-EAI project Equine Intergration
Project description
The overarching goal of the project was to create an AI model that can help the client reduce their workload when creating feedback for riders on their horse.
Context
Equine Integration is a local Dutch technology and data company focusing on the use of sensors to monitor the performance of sports horses, to optimize their performance, reduce injury and improve welfare. Equine Integration is a small company with a team of under 10 employees that was founded in 2010.
Equine Integration focuses on improving horse performance and well-being in various types of equestrian sports, such as show jumping, dressage and racing. The monitoring works by using sensors, which are mounted on the horse, including a heart rate monitor and GPS. These vitals can be accessed and reviewed using the application EI Potential, that records their training sessions, analyzes horse performance and returns feedback. They have supported their athletes at multiple prestigious championships (London 2012, Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020, Paris 2024), where their riders and horses achieved medals and top performances.
Results
The most important outcome of our project is that we have gained a good grasps on the data understanding, which we can transfer to the next group and what should be done next to help the client create a system that would reduce their workload.
