Our project is all about setting up a Demo Security Operations Center for Small to Medium sized businesses. This Demo SOC will be based on the Fontys netlab environment.

Context

Small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) often face significant cybersecurity challenges due to financial constraints, making them vulnerable to cyber threats. The problem to be addressed is the need for an affordable and effective Security Operations Center (SOC) solution tailored to the specific needs and financial limitations of SMBs.
This way, Fontys will be able to demonstrate a SOC-solution to potential SMB-companies/customers. Fontys is then able to gather interest from these companies and work together to harden their security solution.

Results

The project’s goal is to develop a SOC/SIEM solution that is affordable and budget friendly, making it accessible to small and medium-sized businesses with limited resources. This solution will enable these businesses to prevent malicious figures from inflicting harm on their systems. It will also help them meet cybersecurity standards and protect their sensitive data from unauthorized access.
