Applicability of AAS for Self-Driving Labs

Project description
To find out if the concepts that are applied in the manufacturing industry by using RAMI (Reference Architectural Model Industrie) 4.0 and thus AAS (Asset administration shell) are also applicable for a self-driving chemistry laboratory.
Context
The RobotLab program ‘Big Chemistry’ aims to position the Netherlands as a global leader in chemical robotics and AI by creating an autonomous lab for large-scale experiments, with Fontys University contributing essential software components.
Results
A proof of concept has been created and a recommendation guide for future implementations has been created, although it is not currently recommended.
