Cluster Matchmaking Process Optimization

Project description

Cluster Sports & Technology engaged a team of Fontys Advanced Business students to evaluate and improve the efficiency of their matchmaking process as part of the I3 IN-SHAPE project. Following extensive research, stakeholder interviews, and process analysis, three primary issues were identified: a lack of structure in the matchmaking workflow, time-consuming needs definition, and a flawed website experience for participants.

Context

The project involves Cluster Sports & Technology (CST), which facilitates partnerships between companies developing sports-related innovations. The primary goal is connecting SMEs (small/medium enterprises) across Europe (e.g., Netherlands, Spain, Finland) to form consortia for EU grant applications. Our project addressed structural inefficiencies in partner discovery, collaboration lifecycle and compliance. So the context or domain of the project is in sports and technology.

Results

The most important outcomes of our project are the structural, operational, and strategic improvements achieved by implementing the redesigned website and integrated CRM system. The most important outcomes of the project were a structured and reproducible matchmaking proces, reduced manual work and communication overhead, centralized and transparent data management and improved user experience.
