Project description
This project is an addendum to the Long COVID project, that aims to solve the connection between a wearable device i.e. a smart watch, and the Long Covid Buddy App, with the aimed state of transferring real-time biometric data between the smart watch and the app.
Context
This project aims to provide data from which a service tailored for Long Covid patients, in order to shed light onto their condition, and advise on matter of pacing.
During the past semester, this group has been researching and realising a solution for the stakeholders at Long Covid Buddy. The problem was the long timeout of the built in solution, and by creating a custom, brand new, communication bridge between their app, Long Covid Buddy, and a wearable device they've managed to improve communication delays to near real-time which will aid the Long Covid Buddy Team in their future plans for their app
Results
We achieved the desired level of data steam i.e. we were able to transmit real-time data between a wearable and another device. These results will provide a foundation for the Long Covid Buddy team to build their service.
About the project group
The group is constituted by 4 members: 3 software engineers, 2 of which in the 3rd Semester and the last on their 7th. Some are also proficient in design and technology, also. The other student is an AI/Data Science student, in the 7th semester.
The group meets on site every Monday and Thursday, and works from home for the rest of the week.
