Fair, trustworthy, and future-proof data sharing for Smart Sustainable Cities and Communities.

The practical challenge addressed by the Professional Doctorate (PD) of Bart van Gennip concerns the slow adoption of Smart Cities. One of the key reasons is the diversity of solutions, data formats, and systems, which makes data integration complex. Achieving responsible, scalable, and operational data integration requires standardization, as well as clear agreements on governance and data usage. This tech talk will share practical experiences and lessons learned from a European Data Space deployment project carried out in collaboration with the Municipality of Eindhoven and two other European municipalities.
