Project description
How can an autonomous indoor drone system be designed to perform accurate and reliable warehouse inventory by scanning parcel QR codes and determining their locations, without requiring permanent changes to the warehouse?
Context
This project is set in the logistics and warehouse automation domain and focuses on improving inventory management in large distribution warehouses. It explores the use of autonomous indoor drones and ICT systems to replace manual, time-consuming, and error-prone inventory processes.
Results
During this semester, we managed to create two prototypes: an autonomous navigation system in a simulated warehouse and a functional barcode code scanning mechanism. These results validate the feasibility of an automated inventory system and provide a strong foundation for real-world development.
