Project description

This project investigates the intelligent control of the charging and discharging of electric shared cars to support the energy transition by optimizing energy storage and grid balance. It aligns with the increasing use of renewable energy sources and the growing adoption of electric vehicles. The main research question is: How can charging and discharging be optimized based on surplus energy availability, dynamic electricity prices, and vehicle mobility needs?

Context

Results

The project resulted in a working prototype that intelligently controls the charging and discharging of electric shared cars based on surplus energy availability, dynamic electricity prices, and mobility needs. The developed algorithm successfully integrates with APIs from Wallbox, LMS, and Solaredge, enabling real-time decisions that balance energy storage and grid demands. Validation through testing and stakeholder feedback positions the project at TRL 5, demonstrating a functional prototype in a relevant setting, ready for further development and real-world trials.
