Project description
This project is one of the many Open Learning Challenges. Our stakeholder — Artur Kraskov — is a Delta student. A decade ago, he discovered and described a framework that he called Universal Matrix. It can be used for problem decomposition and problem solving and lies in the foundation of the tool we are making — VINO AI.
Context
The project roughly lies at the intersection of the Educational and Productivity domains.
In our scope, we’ve worked on making a web application that would utilize the Universal Matrix concepts to help Open Learning students navigate the environment of Open Learning and the complex project stages.
Results
Technology Readiness Level — 4
Prototype that:
- Foundational UI and software architecture that can be built upon
- Utilizes Universal Matrix Concepts
- Makes users reflect on their goals and ways to reach them
- Defines a “happy path” to achieve users’ goals and creates a planner
- Can ingest information about methodologies and use it in its responses
- Can process user-uploaded documents
• Research and Proposition on how to improve UM framework
• Reworked paper prototype and conducted User Testing sessions
• Researched ways to enhance learning
About the project group
Margarita did ICT on HAVO level in Russia 7 years ago. She didn’t have a strong technical foundation, so she was learning everything on-the-go.
It was challenging to work in a group of two, with one of the members being able to commit only 2-3 days a week to the project, but we made it work.
