Project description
Our design challenge was to build a dashboard that showcase the data our client records in their lab, in a more clear and easy to use format than their current software.
Context
The client records patient's walking patterns in a lab. This is known as a Gait Analysis. The current situation, is that the software to review the recorded data, is complex to use, and does not look great. As a result, most students and teachers don't use it, and just eyeball their data based off the recorded footage, rather than the graphs being projected by the program.
Results
Replicating the software in a more user-friendly way is unfortunately beyond the scope of our project, given the time and experience we have. Our results, are instead more in the prototype aspect. We have finished a prototype in PowerBI, which takes real client data, and projects it into a graph. The process of transforming the data into a readable format has been automated, and the dashboard is very easy to use, and looks way cleaner. This dashboard serves as a stepping stone for the client to use, both as a proof of concept for the future of the project, as well as a way to bridge the gap to the end of that project, by allowing them to use this in the meantime - while a more fully fledged application is being built by someone else.
About the project group
We are a pretty diverse project group. Rik and Noah are from the ICT major, coming from Business and Software respectively. Luke is from the Paramedics major himself, giving us great insights into this project. Ivar and Damiano are from Industrial Engineering, providing a more practical approach.
