Project description
Davis' research question:
How can the Instant Instructions tool be effectively configured in such a way that the knowledge transfer process within companies in the high tech industry is more efficient?
Luca's research question:
How can knowledge be effectively and systematically transferred from experienced to inexperienced employees using the Instant Instructions tool in a high-tech environment, to accelerate their development into experts while optimizing training efficiency?
Context
Employee Knowledge transfer within the high tech industry is valuable since employees can obtain highly skilled knowledge that may be difficult to pass on to other newer employees. There is also an increasing demand in low-volume and high-complexity production for these employees. Advancements in automation and AI inspire ways to automate transferring this knowledge which would eventually save resources, time and money. It would also prevent useful knowledge from being lost. The AI Instant Instructions tool being developed by the research organization TNO is an example of this kind of advancement. This would be a tool where employees mostly within the high tech industry would gain the ability to more efficiently transfer knowledge to other employees via work instructions.
Results
We each have our own research papers and posters. Main results are put into either charts or tables. They involve how the participants performed when executing tasks using paper instructions or the video instructions.
About the project group
We both bachelor graduates in Organisational Processes within Fontys. The project ran from February this year until this moment. We both had the same tests at the same companies for our project but we each had our own research focus within the project
