Project description
This project was created as part of the Immersive Experience course from Fontys, in collaboration with Het Hornemann Huis. The challenge was to create a digital awareness experience that emotionally connects Gen Z with SHOAH, and sparks curiosity to visit the museum. The main research questions was: "How can we tell the story of the shoah to Gen-Z?".
Context
The area of the project is Creative Design, with a focus on 3D modelling.
Results
Even though most Gen Z people know about the Holocaust, they don’t really feel connected to it. The way it’s taught in schools often feels too cold, repetitive, or distant. What really sticks with them are experiences that feel emotional, personal, and visually strong.
Some other important things I found out:
- Gen Z connects more with real, personal stories
- They prefer interactive and immersive formats
- They’re more engaged when the story also links to topics that feel relevant today
So the formulated problem is:
Gen Z knows what the Holocaust is, but they often don’t feel emotionally involved.
About the project group
This project has been created on a period of 5 months within the Immersive Experience course. The concept has started in a group, but later on it turned into a one person.
