Festive signing of partnerships at Fontys ICT
Last week, Fontys ICT welcomed a group of 11 companies to confirm or renew their partnerships. This is a significant milestone, as the need for well-trained technical talent in the Brainport region is greater than ever. With the Beethoven project, Fontys is investing in the development of professionals for the technical sector. Strong cooperation between education and industry is crucial in this regard.
Niek Schmitz, partner coordinator at Fontys ICT:
"We are proud of the commitment of our partners. They offer our students valuable practical experience and, at the same time, learn from their fresh perspectives. This interaction enables us to continue to provide up-to-date and inspiring education and gives our partners new insights and opportunities for innovation. The signing of the agreements is a symbolic moment in which we celebrate this joint commitment."
Partners in Innovation
The “Partner in Innovation” partnership was celebrated in style. Partners in Innovation, united in the SPARC cooperative, work with third- and fourth-year students on practical research within the Fontys ICT InnovationLab.
After a warm welcome, the partners received their plaques and attended Innovations Insight, the event where students present the projects they have been working on during the past semester. These are mostly projects that focus on intensive collaboration with the professional field for the benefit of practice-oriented ICT research. In hybrid teams, the partners work together with students, lecturers, research groups, centres of expertise and Fontys ICT partner companies.

Partners in Education
Prior to Innovations Insight, new partnerships were also celebrated at the Fontys ICT location Mindlabs in Tilburg. After an informal lunch where the necessary connections were made, the companies signed the “Partner in Education” covenant, sealing the partnership (once again). These companies contribute to ICT education with practical cases or projects. In addition, guest lectures or company visits can also be arranged, allowing students to learn how to apply their new ICT knowledge in a relevant and practical environment.
