Innovation and inspiration take centre stage at the fourth Fontys IT Festival
The fourth edition of the Fontys IT Festival promises to be an interactive day full of knowledge sharing, networking opportunities and personal growth. Under the theme ‘Your development, the region's future’, students, staff, alumni, professionals and IT enthusiasts are cordially invited to come and be inspired. The festival will take place on Wednesday 21 May at the Fontys Rachelsmolen campus in Eindhoven.
The festival highlights the power of individual growth as a driver of social and technological progress. ‘Who you become makes a difference – not only for yourself, but also for the world around you,’ according to the organisers.
The broad applicability of ICT makes the field more relevant than ever. The rise of artificial intelligence is radically changing the role of ICT, increasing the need for professionals who are not only technically skilled but also have strong communication and ethical skills. The IT Festival showcases this versatility and emphasises how ICT plays a key role in virtually all sectors. With inspiring examples and innovative collaborations, the festival offers a powerful counterbalance to negative perceptions: ICT is not a disappearing profession, but rather indispensable for the future.
Menno Lanting
Visitors to the Fontys IT Festival can look forward to a varied and inspiring programme. There will be fascinating keynote speeches, including a contribution from Brainport Development on the role of development, technology and talent in the region, under the motto ‘Creating the Future Together’.
Menno Lanting, an expert in leadership and innovation, will give a keynote speech on the crucial connection between talent, technology and corporate culture. In his lecture, he will highlight how disruptive developments such as AI and blockchain are forcing organisations to think differently about leadership and organisational forms. His vision will offer participants valuable insights into how they can prepare for a successful future.
Eva Eikhout
Well-known programme maker and presenter Eva Eikhout will also give a keynote speech, in which she will talk about personal growth and dealing with setbacks in her own unique way. In addition, the Future Software Xperience offers an inspiring mix of lectures — including a presentation by Wietse Hage on the future of software engineering — and an interactive market where visitors can get hands-on experience.
The festival programme will be further enriched with active workshops that stimulate both personal and professional development, as well as networking opportunities that provide space for exchanging ideas and making new contacts. Finally, there will be plenty of opportunity to end the day in style around the food trucks, where visitors can enjoy delicious food and relaxed conversations.
