You will learn how AI can help prevent misunderstandings, even in situations involving cultural differences or complex dynamics.

About the speakers
Ruud Huijts is an educational innovator with twenty years of experience as a lecturer and researcher at Fontys ICT and in secondary education. He moves effortlessly between educational innovation, software development, user interaction and Generative AI. His strength? Making complex technologies accessible to everyone.
As author of the book ‘Leven en Leren met AI’ (Living and Learning with AI), he shares his vision of the role of artificial intelligence in education and our daily lives. He is also pioneering the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which he uses to link AI to existing systems – from educational platforms to NS services and the Rijksmuseum. His innovative applications are practical and accessible, always focused on impact.

Koen Suilen combines expertise in curriculum development with practical experience in generative AI at Fontys University of Applied Sciences. As Curriculum Lead for the AI and Business IT programmes and as an expert affiliated with the Centre of Expertise AI for Society, he focuses on developing professionalisation programmes around AI and the responsible use of Gen AI in education.
Koen co-initiated the AI task force at Fontys ICT, where, in addition to talking about AI, he is also emphatically involved in its practical application. He is co-author of the recently published book ‘Leven en leren met AI’ (Living and learning with AI), a practical guide for students and professionals on the responsible use of generative AI in learning and working environments.
In his work, Koen enables teachers and students to work confidently and responsibly with AI technologies.
