Project description
Dierenpad is an easy to understand educational game made for children visual and developmental disabilities, specifically those with a mental age of 8 to 18 months. The game aims to help motivate these children by enriching their learning process. The player interacts with animals and helps them return to their own habitat. The animals celebrate their return home with a happy tune.
Context
The game is designed for kids with sever multiple disibilities (EMB). This means They have visual, cognitive, and sensory disabilities and are in a mental age of 8 to 18 months. Many of them enjoy animals, music, and movement. We made sure the game avoids overstimulation and supports autonomy while still being fun and easy to use.
Results
Dierenpad is a 2D educational game where kids help animals find their homes. There’s a variety of levels, environments, and difficulty settings that teachers can adjust.
The core game loop revolves around curiosity and reward. Players explore interactions by tapping or dragging animals, which produces joyful responses, like animations and sounds.
