Firefront
Project description
A prototype for an alternate reality game, which could be played by customers of Heijmans, at the contracted building on an event day, in order to gather 3D building data.
Context
Currently, when Heijmans has a maintenance contract for a particular building, an employee must visit it in order to create a 3D-model of said building. This is necessary because, in practice, they often find that the physical building differs from the blueprints provided by the client.
The goal of this project is to create a game which would incentivize Heijmans’ clients to provide scanning data, which would eventually be used to create a 3D-model. That would allow Heijmans to allocate the financial resources, which are currently being spent on sending out employees and scanning devices, elsewhere.
Results
The primary outcome of this project is a functional Augmented Reality game prototype that demonstrates real-time interaction between digital game elements and the physical environment. The prototype includes core gameplay mechanics, object placement, user interaction systems, and a basic progression/reward loop.
