Project description
We've developed a "USB-over-network" solution that's designed to replace current "remote control" solutions for remote control of electron microscopes with ours - a solution that allows clients to connect remotely to a server to which the microscope is connected and control it effectively and securely.
Context
Our solution is designed to replace the existing "remote control" solution, which Thermo Fisher uses. It's designed to be used in a production environment after successful handover to the stakeholders at the company. It connects all components related to the use of electron microscopes - a physical microscope controller, the microscope control software, and the actual microscope - in an end-to-end solution, satisfying the needs of the client.
Results
A working remote-control solution that forwards HID controller input over a secure client-server connection works with production-used Thermo Fisher electron microscope control software and integrates with Thermo Fisher’s microscope control software. We've also delivered future development instructions and recommendations, efficient transfer documentation and evidence of our efficient use of AI during our development process for the goal, as requested bu the stakeholder, to explore such technologies and apply them in our process
About the project group
